I know our groups main subject focus is single dads, but to get a clearer view it’s logical to compare them with single mothers.
According to this website, being a single parent is now the new normal, It’s not looked upon as being unstable or bad. This prevalence is due to the growing trend of children born outside of marriage.
Being a single parent is not always a choice, a partner could have past away or suffering from an illness and being have to put in a care unit. Which is another reason why it’s now seen as being normal and not looked down upon because nobody knows anyones full story (unless you’re in the public eye of course, or gone on Jeremy Kyle)
